It also means sometimes that we see what we want to see or what we expect to see. A classic examp

What makes a good leader? If you were to ask ten people this question I would guess that you would get ten different answers. Some people would say a good leader is strong, some would say have technical ability, whilst others would say a good leader must have good communication skills. This list gives you an idea of the many skills a leader will need to develop; StrengthHonestyIntegrityFlexibilitySelf disciplineManagement skillsCommunication skillsTechnical knowledgeFairBalancedHumourNaturally all of these skills will come into play when you take up the position of leader. The big question is are they skills a leader is born with, or are they something you can develop? In recent decades managerial strategies are driven by two major theories. The employment market is more competitive today than at any time in recent memory. The recession has changed the face of finding or moving job and employers can afford to be increasingly choosey about who they employ. There are plenty of people looking! Probably the worst hit segment of the employment market is the 16 – 24 year olds. These, at least, have the option to stay in or return to further education in order to add to their qualifications to make them more attractive when the employment market eases. Qualifications, along with experience, are the two main criteria that employers will look for when looking for people to interview for a role. These are the first hurdles to overcome in order to get past the paper based long listing approach and get that all important face to face interview or assessment day. Employers are dem

Increase your belief in yourself
July 21, 2009, 10:42 am
It’s true to say that at some point in life all of us get a dose of the unwanted and the unexpected. I tend to think of these events as those curved balls that come out of left field. Maybe it’s a test to see how good our fielding skills are. I like to think of these things as an opportunity to see how much I can weather the storm and how quickly I will bounce back.Self belief is the foundation stone. Solid self belief! The kind that is strong enough to deal with the reality of a bad situation and yet flexible enough so that one doesn’t shatter when the odds are stacked against us.My course on self belief called Solid Self Belief is based on many years of experience of dealing with the unexpected and the unwanted.
